I grew up across the street from the author and my father recommended the book. It is very amusing and there are many valid issues he highlights. He definitely points out many of the frustrating experiences in modern America. Sometimes that criticism and topics seem like complaining and whining. Overall though, it’s nice to see a normal man standing up to the idiotic disease called Political Correctness in our society today.Product details

If you are not totally PC, like me, then you will enjoy this book. Mr Melka has condensed all of life's annoyances and his solutions, which often are suprisingly simple.
If laughter is good for your health, then I probably added a few years to my life expectancy. This book is based on a common sense approach to the many idiotic things that we face in today's society. The author has a sharp and very unique sense of humor that makes this such a fun read.
This book exceeded my expectations for humor,intellect and plain good sense. You will be entertained as you laugh along with Mr. Melka as he tackles life's absurdities and attempts to educate everyone from the bartender to Congress on how things should be done. There may be times when you agree with his friend's assessment, "Melka, those people think you are nuts!" but you will have fun and perhaps feel empowered to put on your own mantle of righteous indignation. Typos from first printing have been corrected so I can give it an unequivocal 5 stars. Enjoy! I can't wait for Volume II!
Like Mr. Melka, millions of us have spent countless days on the road doing our jobs - we are the business traveler. We have met many of the very true characters he describes in this book - from the surly cab line lady at O'Hare, to the nasty flight attendant who is doing you a favor by being on the plane, to the hotel desk associate who does not feel badly for having sold your guaranteed room while leaving you out on the street. If you did not get your free upgrade to first, if you did not get the exit row and are now in a middle seat having been made to check your bag, this book will make you feel better. Very entertaining.
